LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette men’s basketball team will host Evansville in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Blackham Coliseum.
The Cajuns (22-13) defeated Sam Houston State 71-70 in the second round Saturday. Evansville (21-12) defeated Eastern Illinois 83-68 on Monday.
Shawn Long is averaging 16.2 points and 10.2 rebounds with 53 blocked shots for the Cajuns. Brian Williams adds 10.1 points, Kasey Shepherd averages 9.5, Devonta Walker 9.3 and Jay Wright 9.2.
D.J. Balentine leads the Aces with 19.5 points per game and has 105 assists. Egidiju Mockevicius averages 12.5 points and 10.0 rebounds.
Tickets are $12, and the first 750 students will be admitted free.

Oral Roberts at UL-Lafayette: In Lafayette, the UL-Lafayette women will host Oral Roberts in the semifinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitational. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Earl K. Long Gym.
The second-seeded Cajuns (21-12) defeated McNeese State 63-58 in the second round Saturday. Fifth-seeded Oral Roberts (18-15) advanced with a 63-61 win over New Mexico on Monday.
Thursday’s winner will face either Sienna or Mercer in the WBI championship game. If UL-Lafayette wins, the game will be played at 4 p.m. Sunday in Lafayette.
The Cajuns are led by Jaylyn Gordon, averaging 14.3 points and 4.1 rebounds, and Keke Veal, who averages 12.9 points and has 81 assists. Kia Wildridge averages 12.7 points and 5.0 rebounds and has 60 assists.

Louisiana Tech at Temple: In Philadelphia, No. 3 seed Louisiana Tech takes on top-seeded Temple at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals in the Liacouras Center.
The winner will advance to the NIT Final Four beginning March 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Louisiana Tech (27-8) advanced with an 84-72 win over Texas A&M in the second round Monday in College Station, Texas. It will be the Bulldogs’ second straight NIT quarterfinal appearance.
Temple (25-10) defeated Georgetown 90-77 on Sunday.
It will be the second game this season between Louisiana Tech and Temple. The Owls won the first game 82-75 on Nov. 17.
Wednesday’s game will be televised on ESPN2.
Vermont at UL-Monroe: In Monroe, the Warhawks will host Vermont at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the College Basketball Invitational semifinals in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
ULM (23-12) rallied from 20 points down to beat Mercer 71-69 in the quarterfinals Monday. Vermont (20-13) defeated Radford 78-71 on Monday.
The winner will advance to the best-of-three championship series March 30, April 1 and April 3 (if necessary) against either Seattle or Loyola of Chicago.
