Three months after he was killed in the line of duty, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputy Brad Garafola has been enshrined at his alma mater.

Broadmoor High School honored Garafola at halftime of its homecoming football game, inducting him into its hall of fame. Many in attendance wore shirts honoring the 1989 Broadmoor graduate, with the words "our hero" emblazoned across the chest.

Garafola was one of three law enforcement officers slain by a lone gunman in Baton Rouge in July. Baton Rouge PD officers Montrell Jackson and Matthew Gerald were also killed. Fellow EBR deputy Nick Tullier was critically injured, and is still in recovery.
