HOUMA, La.-- A 40-year-old man died Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash on North Hollywood Road, according to a Louisiana State Police news release.

Around 2 a.m. Verbon Robbins, 40, of Thibodaux was driving his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle west of North Hollywood Road near Williams Avenue, according to the release.

As he passed another motocycle on North Hollywood Road, he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road, according to the release. His Harley traveled off the right side of the road, hitting a utility pole.

Verbon was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to the release.

Though alcohol use is unknown at the time, the release states routine toxicology tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
