Representatives from Environmental Resources Management, the firm selected to complete the next phase of Central’s master plan, will hold three public meetings during the first week of April to discuss the project, according to a Central news release.

The first meeting will be April 3 at 6:30 pm at the Joor Road Library, 11260 Joor Road. This meeting will provide the public with details of the project’s scope, schedule, and anticipated benefits of the plan.

The second meeting will be April 4 at 5:30 pm at the Central Fire Station, 11646 Sullivan Road. Items to be discussed include synthesis and preliminary concepts, strategy development, and input from the community.

The third meeting will be April 5 at 4:pm at the Central Fire Station. Items to be discussed include implementation strategies and the projected schedule.

Funding for this phase of the master plan is through the Community Development Block Grant program with a local match from the city of Central. Items to be addressed in this phase include the creation of a flood-plain management program to deal with developments in the flood plain, a code and pattern design book for architectural standards for new commercial developments, and the development of a city center.
