State legislators Wednesday will discuss passage of a resolution that would ask the NFL to reconsider the penalties imposed upon the New Orleans Saints for the team’s bounty system.
Saints Head Coach Sean Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season, team general manager Mickey Loomis was suspended for eight months, assistant head coach Joe Vitt was suspended for six games and the Saints were fined $500,000 and docked two second-round draft picks
Meanwhile, Payton, Loomis and Vitt are set to have their appeals to the punishments heard Thursday, The Associated Press has reported.
Legislators will discuss the resolution at Wednesday’s Senate and Governmental Affairs committee meeting. The meeting was slated to start at 9 a.m. in Committee Room F.
