As the fall 2011 semester is set to begin at LSU, the university’s Department of Residential Life will host its annual “Roaring into the Halls” student move-in day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, in all campus residence halls and on-campus apartments, according to an LSU news release.

“Roaring into the Halls” provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere full of LSU pride and spirit for the anticipated 2,500 new and returning students moving to campus. More than 500 volunteers from the faculty and the staff, members of student organizations and friends of the university will team up with Residential Life staff for this exciting event.

Among the volunteers will be LSU Chancellor Michael Martin, who will help residents move in throughout the morning of “Roaring into the Halls.” Martin will volunteer at Kirby Smith Hall at 8 a.m. and at West Laville Hall at 10 a.m.
