This year marks the 67th anniversary of the end of World War II and the USS Kidd Veterans Memorial and Museum will commemorate that time Tuesday, Aug. 14, at a Keep the Spirit of ’45 Alive event, a news release says.
Ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. in the House chambers of the Old State Capitol downtown.
Mayor-President Kip Holden will be keynote speaker.
The Baton Rouge Music Club Chorus will perform a tribute to the music of the 1940s.
The event is free and open to the public.
