The LSU Performing Arts Academy is accepting entries for the university's 35th annual Bach Contest, scheduled Dec. 10 in the LSU Music & Dramatic Arts Building.

Participants will compete by playing selections from two musical styles: baroque and sonatina, two styles commonly associated with the famous 18th century composer, according to an LSU news release.

Judges will evaluate the contestants and will invite the top performers to participate in a final public recital.

The contest has become an annual tradition for young pianists across Louisiana, with top-rated students in each category being invited to perform in a final concert at the end of the competition, the news release says.

The deadline to register is Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. Registration is $10 per student.
