The Baton Rouge Metro Airport experienced a 5.77 percent increase in May passenger traffic compared to same month last year, according to an airport commission news release.
The number of departing passengers was up 6.27 percent at 41,478 passengers while the number of arriving passengers was up 5.27 percent at 38,841 passengers.
For the month, 80,319 passengers flew in/out of the airport. From the year-to-date through May, the total passenger count is up 7.70 percent.
While passenger traffic was up for all four airlines during May, American Eagle had the biggest increase at 10.88 percent. Delta continues to maintain the highest passenger share at the Baton Rouge airport followed by United, American and US Airways.
