The state Department of Environmental Quality, along with the Louisiana Senate Environmental Committee and LSU, are reminding holiday shoppers to save their unwanted electronic components for recycling.
Electronics Waste Recycling Day will be held Feb. 8-9 from 9: a.m. until 3:p.m., in the parking lot across from Alex Box Stadium on the LSU’s campus, according to a DEQ news release.
The service is free and open to the public.
Feb. 8 will be reserved for collecting e-waste from businesses, while Feb. 9 will be reserved for the general public.
Materials that will be accepted include computers, monitors, televisions, LCD panels, printers, other computer electronic games, VCRs, circuit boards, and other household electronic devices.
Materials that will not be accepted include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, backup or UPS power supplies, batteries (that are not integral to the system) and appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators.
