Firefighters suspect arson could have caused a Wednesday morning fire that started at a vacant home on Pimpernel Avenue.

Firefighters received a call reporting the blaze at 6:40 a.m. at 2736 Pimpernel Ave., according to a Baton Rouge Fire Department news release.

The fire started in the back of the home and was contained to that area, according to the release.

Neighbors told firefighters that the home's resident moved out of the home a week ago.

The house had no utilities at the time of the fire.

No one was injured.
