The employment center for L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel officially opens Wednesday with a job fair for management positions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although applications should be submitted online at, the employment center will provide applicants without access to a computer or those who need assistance a place to apply for available positions weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We are excited to open the employment center, which is a major milestone and shows how quickly our opening is approaching,” Mickey Parenton, vice president and general manager of L’Auberge Baton Rouge, said in a news release. “We look forward to meeting and hiring the best of Baton Rouge and the surrounding region.”

The employment center, which is located on LSU’s South Campus at 8000 GSRI Ave., will also serve as a training center when L’Auberge Baton Rouge begins hiring for all positions later this year.

With a planned opening in the summer, L’Auberge Baton Rouge will create more than 1,000 new permanent positions.

When it opens, L’Auberge Baton Rouge will feature an expansive single-level, 74,000-square-foot casino; nearly 1,500 slot machines; 51 table games, including a poker room; a 12-story hotel with 206 guest rooms and a rooftop pool; three dining outlets; a casino bar with views of the Mississippi River; 2,400 parking spaces, including 800 in a covered parking garage; a multi-purpose event center with concert seating for up to 1,600 people or banquet seating for up to 800 people; and outdoor festival grounds with capacity for up to 2,500.
