The Baton Rouge Fire Department will hold an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday for the department’s new Fire Station No. 2 at 3333 Choctaw Drive.

The new station will replace the current Fire Station No. 2 which was originally built in 1949 at 2182 Osage St., according to a news release.

The new station is slightly less than 8,000 square-feet and has two bays for several pieces of fire equipment.
