Capital City Alliance, a Baton Rouge lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy group, will hold its first Equality March Saturday.
The march will start at 9 a.m. at the corner of Fourth Street and North Boulevard downtown.
According to a news release, the march is being held to let “our neighbors near and far know that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and our allies are no longer willing to be an invisible minority.”
Following the march, the group will hold a rally at the State Capitol that is expected to begin at 9:40 a.m.
Also Saturday, the Baton Rouge Pride Fest will begin at noon in the LSU Student Union.
The festival, which is free to the public, will feature entertainment, relationship blessings and a community resource fair.
