Tree planting season is October through March in Baton Rouge and now is a good time to select new trees.
Baton Rouge Green’s Fall Tree-for-All is an opportunity to buy new trees while supporting a local non-profit, according to a news release.
The event will be held Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Burden Center, 4560 Essen Lane.
Tree experts will be on hand to help customers choose from the dozens of varieties of flowering, fruiting and shade trees. A list of trees to be sold will be available online at http://www.batonrougegreen.com by Friday.
Current Baton Rouge Green members receive 10 percent off their purchases and can reserve their plant selections in advance through Oct. 7.
One free ticket to the Burden Center’s Corn Maze will be given to anyone purchasing trees worth $20 or more.
