The state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Waterfowl Section and LSU’s School of Renewable Natural Resources are asking resident waterfowl hunters to participate in the 2013 Waterfowl Hunter Opinion Survey.

The survey asks for opinions about waterfowl hunting activity, satisfaction with new zones and zone boundaries, potential season dates for future waterfowl hunting season, and other policies, according to a press release from the department.

“We are mailing surveys to 5,000 randomly selected waterfowl hunters – 2,500 printed surveys with follow-ups to be completed and mailed back; and 2,500 postcards with Internet pass codes to be completed online,” Larry Reynolds, LDWF Waterfowl study leader, said in a press release from the department.

The same survey is also available on the department’s website home page at and any interested waterfowl hunters can participate.
