A man shot and killed his estranged wife, shot and wounded her son and then shot himself in an apparent murder-suicide Friday, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said.

Deputies received a call at 4 a.m. from a woman at 2850 Magazine Drive who told them that someone was trying to enter her home, Hicks said.

During the phone call, authorities heard gunshots fired over the line and the woman on the phone then stopped responding, Hicks said.

When deputies arrived at the house, they found 35-year-old Kesia Coleman dead as well as a man, Rouche Coleman, 38, dead, Hicks said.

The Colemans were separated, Hicks said.

Kesia Coleman’s son was also shot in the home and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, Hicks said.

Preliminary information shows that Rouche Coleman entered Kesia Coleman’s house, shot her, shot her son and then shot himself, Hicks said.
