Monday is Halloween which means children will be out in full force walking the neighborhoods in search of tasty treats.

Trick or Treat hours in East Baton Rouge, Ascension and Livingston parishes is between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office will host its 4th annual Trick-or-Treating with Deputies event Monday night at the Elvin Street BREC Park.

Trick-or-Treating with Deputies is a free, family-oriented event, which will provide a fun and safe environment for the Gardere Lane community. There will be food, drinks, music, games, a costume contest, and door prizes. The Sheriff’s Office also will provide Halloween safety tips for the community before taking the kids trick-or-treating.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with food, drinks, dancing and games inside the gymnasium and at 5:45 p.m. everyone will gather at the stage outside where the Sheriff’s Office Community Policing Unit will give Halloween safety tips, trick-or-treating bags, and glow sticks before taking the kids out through the Old Hermitage neighborhood for trick-or-treating.

At 8:00 p.m. children will return to the gym for a costume contest. The event will end at 9 p.m.
