The Center for Planning Excellence will be holding the annual Smart Growth Summit from Aug. 27 through Aug. 29 in downtown Baton Rouge.
This will be the seventh year of the summit that features discussion and presentations on a variety of topics for planning growth of cities. Topics this year include the role local businesses play in local communities, updates on community planning efforts in Louisiana, crime, water management, transportation, neighborhood redevelopment and green building.
The summit will take place at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge.
The summit will offer continuing education credits for attorneys as well as self-reporting credits for planners, architects, landscape architects, engineers, and realtors.
Registration fee is $75 through Aug. 23 and then the registration goes to $100. The summit is free, but registration is required, for students and educators. Scholarships are available for people who don’t have the money to register but can make a strong case for why they should attend for free, according to information from CPEX.
