East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives are searching for an alleged home invasion suspect after receiving a call at approximately 6:15 a.m. Monday, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

The man allegedly forced his way into an apartment at 8144 Jefferson Park Drive and when deputies arrived, fled out a window, the release says.

Detectives are trying to determine what occurred, the release says. Earlier Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office announced a rape may have occurred. It’s unclear what exactly happened other than a reported break-in, according to the release.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing black jeans with checkered underwear. When he was last seen he had no shirt on.

Deputies and police dogs are tracking the man and a perimeter has been set up, the release says.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers 344-STOP.
