Children can discover the “spooky” side of astronomy Oct. 22 at BREC’s Highland Road Park Observatory from 8 p.m. to midnight, according to a BREC news release.
The annual family event explores the bizarre side of astronomy, physics and aeronautics just in time for Halloween.
Creepy science demonstrations, eerie stories and celestial-themed activities are planned.
The event is free.
The Highland Road Observatory, 13800 Highland Road, features a 20-inch reflecting telescope, and a 16-inch reflecting telescope. The observatory is brought to the public by the East Baton Rouge Parish Recreation and Parks Commission, LSU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society.
