Springboard, billed by its creator as an entrepreneurial campus offering help to small companies, start ups and people with little more than an idea, will open up on the second floor of Kress at Third and Main downtown on Jan. 1.

During a presentation to the Downtown Development District Tuesday morning, John Schneider of Vision City Development Group said Springboard will offer entrepreneurs resources ranging from voicemail and email services and meeting space up to offices rented by the month. Springboard will also include an iCafe serving items including sandwiches and gelato and feature a collaborative workspace for up to 150 people.

Programs will include those that help woman-owned businesses, minority-owned businesses and veterans, as well as a program for people who have been turned down for loans who want to take another shot.
