Wade Nobles of San Francisco State University will be the featured speaker Thursday at the 23rd annual Kwanzaa Celebration hosted by the Africentric Focus/Maat Study Group of Baton Rouge, a nonprofit, community-based organization.

Kwanzaa, a seven-day celebration of family, community and culture, begins Dec. 26. This year’s Africentric Focus Study Group/Maat celebration of the holiday will be held at the Southern University Cotillion Ballroom at 7 p.m. Thursday, the fourth day of Kwanzaa.

Vendors at the event will feature African-heritage clothing, jewelry, art and books.
