Two men who were shot somewhere on Airline Highway early Thursday morning drove to Woman’s Hospital seeking help, Baton Rouge police said.

Police were called to the intersection of Airline Highway and Florida Boulevard at 12:52 a.m. to respond to a report of gunshots fired in the area, according to a police news release.

Before the officers arrived at the intersection, they got a call from headquarters that five people showed up at Woman’s Hospital on Airline Highway and that two of them were shot and wounded.

The two men were treated on the scene by paramedics but then transported to another hospital.

One of the two men had life - threatening injuries, according to the release.

There is no known motive for the shootings at this point.

The incident is under investigation.
