Firefighters in Baker battled a house fire early Thursday morning that spread to two vehicles under the carport.

The call came in reporting the blaze at 215 W. Buffwood Drive at 3:11 a.m., according to a Baker Fire Department news release.

When firefighters arrived they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home. The fire burned through the home’s attic and roof, according to the release.

The home was a total loss but there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the release.

The resident of the home said he left the house at 4 p.m. the previous day, the release says.
