Capital One Bank is accepting applications for its Getting Down to Business small business development program in Baton Rouge.
The free, seven-month program begins Sept. 27 and will offer qualified business owners the chance to increase their knowledge of credit, budgeting, marketing, business plans, financing, accounting best practices, networking, and insurance among other topics.
The program includes a matched savings component of up to $2,000 that business owners can use for operations, staffing or the purchase of supplies if the entrepreneurs complete the program. Participants will also be paired with mentors - knowledgeable professionals and volunteers - during the classes and for a year after the program.
The upcoming Getting Down to Business classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every other Tuesday beginning Sept. 27 at Capital One Bank’s Baton Rouge Downtown Office at 440 Third St.
The program will be limited to 10 participants who will be selected through an application and interview process. For information on how to apply for the program and additional information about the curriculum, email Cheri Ausberry at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call her at (225) 381-8636.
