Firefighters with the St. George Fire Department and the Baton Rouge Fire Department worked together to put out a two-story apartment building fire Wednesday night at 9136 Ridge Oak Drive, according to a St. George Fire Department news release.

The six-unit building had major damage to the first and second floors, according to the release.

Firefighters were called out to the fire at 7:24 p.m.

No one was injured but a dog had smoke a inhalation problem. The dog was sucessfully revived.

The origin and cause of the blaze is under investigation.
