Capital One Bank is accepting applications for a free, four-part training series for local nonprofit groups.
The series, to be offered in Baton Rouge, will be held in conjunction with the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations. It begins Oct. 9 and ends in early December. The application deadline is Sept. 28.
The training will help nonprofit group employees and board members increase their knowledge of governance, financial management and portfolio diversification.
Capital One focuses on four important building blocks of economic activity: affordable housing, small business and workforce development, financial literacy, and education, Mike Wack, Capital One Bank’s Southwest Louisiana market president, said in a news release. “This partnership with LANO is a great example of Capital One’s investment in Louisiana communities.”
The program will be offered to about 30 participants from 15 southeast Louisiana nonprofits. Participants will be selected through an application process. The classes will be held at Kress Gallery, 447 Third St. Applicants selected for the program will receive a schedule from Capital One Bank and LANO.
