LHC Group Inc., a Lafayette-based home health and hospice services firm, signaled investors that it intends to amp up its mergers-and-acquisitions activity by hiring industry veteran Don Adam as senior vice president and chief development officer for home health and hospice services.
LHC Chairman and Chief Executive Keith G. Myers touted Adam’s experience in mergers and acquisitions in a news release issued Wednesday. Adam worked for more than a decade at St. Louis-based RehabCare Group Inc., where he served as chief development officer and senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions.
“At RehabCare, Don developed significant expertise in creating joint venture partnerships with non-profit acute care organizations,” Myers said in a news release. “Since LHC Group is the only nationally recognized provider of post-acute care services with success in creating partnerships with non-profit systems, Don’s experience will be a perfect fit as we further differentiate LHC Group through our joint venture strategy.”
Some industry experts have predicted that consolidation activity will increase in the home health sector, with reimbursement cuts by Medicare and a sluggish national economy increasing the pressure on businesses.
