Heavy rain returned Thursday morning to the Baton Rouge area around 7:30 a.m. and some areas of East Baton Rouge, Ascension and Livingston parishes were under a tornado warning until 8:45 a.m.
Although there were some media reports of a possible tornado in East Baton Rouge Parish, Casey Rayborn Hicks with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said there have been no reports of tornadoes in the parish.
A tornado watch is in effect for southeast Louisiana until 2 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The Louisiana State Police reported earlier that standing water was on Interstate 10 eastbound at Bluebonnet Boulevard. The department reported just after 9 a.m. that the area was clear.
The entire Baton Rouge metro area is under a flash flood watch until 6 p.m. Thursday.
