New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival organizers are compiling a team of volunteer photographers to document next year’s festival, slated April 27-29 and May 3-6 at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.

The volunteer photographer program is a community outreach effort by the Jazz & Heritage Foundation Archive. Organizers say they are looking for images that go beyond the music on stage and capture the food, the art and the people whose fashions and traditions help define the Jazz Fest experience.

Applicants may apply online at http://www.nojazzfest.com. The deadline is Dec. 31. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Applications will be reviewed by a four-person jury, and its decisions will be based on artistic merit, experience photographing live cultural events and professional reliability.
