Capital City Alliance is holding its annual Baton Rouge Transgender Day of Remembrance Thursday evening.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice.

The event gives allies a chance to step forward and stand in vigil, memorializing those who have died by anti-transgender violence.

The vigil will begin at 6: p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. at the Baton Rouge Unitarian Universalist Church, 8470 Goodwood Blvd.

Also, the Greater Baton Rouge Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays chapter will hold its monthly meeting after the service at the church.
