An Australia-based education group is offering a series of in-house undergraduate scholarships valued at up to $2 million for Lafayette, La., and Seattle high school graduates.

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment, which has campuses in both cities, will make two AIE Community Outreach Scholarships eligible to students at public and private schools. The scholarships will fund half of the student’s first year of study at the AIE campuses.

“AIE is making an investment into Seattle and Lafayette High School graduates to encourage future innovation and business growth within their film and game development communities,” John De Margheriti, Academy’s chairman, said in a news release.

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) specializes in teaching students industry ready skills in the areas of animation, game design and visual FX. They are known catalysts for creating practical, cutting-edge and industry focused courses that have resulted in an enviable employment uptake of its graduates.

An information session will be held April 4 at the LITE center, home of the AIE Lafayette campus.
