LAFAYETTE - Hospice of Acadiana recently announced its partnership with the “We Honor Veterans” campaign.
The campaign recognizes organizations for their care for the nation’s veterans and their collaborative efforts with VA medical facilities in their local communities.
The campaign was developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care organization in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Lafayette-based nonprofit hospice organization has implemented veteran-specific education training for its staff and volunteers as part of the campaign partnership.
“From these efforts, Hospice of Acadiana is better able to accompany and guide veterans and their families towards more peaceful endings,” said Louis Hebert, Hospice of Acadiana chief executive officer. “In cases where there may be specific needs related to the veteran’s military service, combat experience, or other traumatic events, Hospice of Acadiana has the tools to help support those they are caring for.”
