LSU is ranked No. 5 in the USA Today Baseball Coaches poll released Thursday, marking the Tigers’ fourth top-10 designation of the preseason and its second in the top 5. LSU was also rated No. 5 in the Perfect Game preseason poll earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Louisiana-Lafayette is ranked No. 13 in the poll.

LSU is one of four Southeastern Conference teams in the USA Today preseason Top 10, along with No. 1 Florida, No. 3 Vanderbilt and No. 4 Texas A&M.

Other SEC squads appearing in the Top 25 are No. 17 Mississippi State, No. 22 Arkansas and No. 23 South Carolina.

The Tigers begin preseason practice at 3:15 p.m. Friday, and LSU opens the season at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 versus Cincinnati in Alex Box Stadium.

INDIVIDUAL GAME TICKETS ON SALE FEB. 3: A limited number of LSU individual game baseball tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 7 p.m. Feb. 3. The tickets will be available online only at www.lsutix.net until 8 a.m. Feb. 4, when they may also be purchased by phone or in person at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office.

Ticket prices vary according to the game.

In addition, individual game parking permits will be available for select home games beginning Feb 5.

Permits will be $5 for nonconference games and $8 for conference games.
