GONZALES — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested two more people in connection with the Feb 18 home invasion and triple slaying of a family that involved a plan to steal cash and rare gold and silver coins.
Bernard R. James, 25, 36344 Lorena Drive, Prairieville, was booked Wednesday with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated burglary, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Devon Tremain James, 24, 40140 S. Autumnwood Court, Prairieville, was booked late Tuesday night with three counts of accessory after the fact of first-degree murder, accessory after the fact of aggravated burglary and accessory after the fact of armed robbery, the release says.
Neither of the two men had a prior criminal history, according to the release.
The recent two arrests brings the total involved to five people accused in the killings.
Ascension parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley announced the arrests of Michael Aikens, 35, 16456 La. 930, and Rolondo Stewart, 22, 15379 Roy Rogers, both of Prairieville; and Travis Moore, 19, 15473 Wilmont St., Baton Rouge, Tuesday.
They were arrested Tuesday on three counts of first-degree murder and single counts of armed robbery and aggravated burglary, Wiley said.
