The Baton Rouge Police Department has ordered 100 Taser X2s, which provide second-shot capability, according to Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Taser International Inc.
The Baton Rouge order was one of five police department contracts, the company announced Thursday. Altogether the departments ordered more than 1,100 of the devices.
The X2 is Taser’s second-generation device. The model logs firing and electrical pulse information, has an automatic shut off and can be paired with a Taser audio and video system.
