A Winnfield man accused of hitting a man in the head and ribs with a baseball bat during an argument in September has been arrested, according to an arrest warrant.

Demario Brown, 21, 206 Martin Luther King Drive, Winnfield, was booked Thursday with attempted second-degree murder by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies, parish jail records show.

The incident occurred in a parking lot at 4747 South Park Ave. in the early morning hours of Sept. 17, according to the warrant.

Brown and two other men are accused of attacking the victim during the argument with Brown allegedly using the bat to hit the victim, according to the warrant.

After the victim was hit with the bat and fell, the attackers began punching and kicking the victim as well as choking him, the warrant says.
