New live high school football coverage plans unveiled for The Advocate, The New Orleans Advocate _lowres

The Advocate and The New Orleans Advocate are expanding their coverage of Louisiana high school football this season by offering fans a one-stop shop of live information from the area’s biggest games.

Beginning in Week 1 in early September, the updates The Advocate and The New Orleans Advocate provide will go beyond games’ current scores and quarters, allowing users to follow games more closely.

Details such as who has possession and if that team is in the red zone will be provided, for example.

Game updates will be centralized on an auto-refreshed scoreboard that’s accessible on desktop, mobile and tablet devices, enabling users to keep tabs on games from their homes or even while attending other games.

Each week, editors and writers will choose which games will be updated live.

The enhanced coverage will begin Sept. 3 -- the first day the Louisiana High School Athletic Association allows regular season football contests.
