Two groups have planned free Thanksgiving Day meals for the needy, according to news releases.

Holiday Helpers Inc. of Baton Rouge will host its 25th annual Thanksgiving Together event for the community 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Baton Rouge River Center, 275 S. River Road.

The menu includes turkey, ham, corn-bread dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, green beans, roll, dessert, soft drinks and coffee.

Volunteers are asked to show up to help at 6 p.m. Wednesday and/or on Thanksgiving between 9 a.m. and noon.

At the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, everyone is invited to a Thanksgiving Day meal 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
