A pedestrian was hit and killed by a pickup truck Friday morning on Bueche Road north of La. 620 shortly before 6 a.m. in West Baton Rouge Parish , according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers’ preliminary investigation revealed that Brandon Gueho, 24, of Port Allen was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup south on Bueche Road when he struck a pedestrian, 21-year-old Raylynn Guidry of Marrero, who was standing in the southbound travel lane, according to a State Police news release.

The area where the crash occurred was dark and Guidry was wearing dark clothing , the release says.

Troopers do not suspect impairment to have been a factor in this crash, the release says.

Although Gueho was not suspected of impaired driving, he voluntarily submitted a breath sample to troopers that showed he had no detectable alcohol in his system , the release says.

Gueho was properly restrained when the crash occurred and was uninjured , the release says.

Guidry was pronounced dead on the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office , the release says.
