Detectives arrested a 43-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of killing a woman found dead on the side of South River Road Saturday.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Wednesday booked Warren P. Slan, 8210 Skysail Ave., with second-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old Tiffany Degazon, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said in a news release.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Degazon was evicted from her home on Friday.
A witness said they last saw her under the influence of an unknown narcotic substance and intoxicated walking into Slan’s home, Hicks said in the release.
The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab processed DNA obtained from the victim’s remains that matched Slan’s.
Detectives found Slan at his home Tuesday night and took him in for questioning, Hicks said.
Slan gave detectives specific details about evidence collected from the crime scene that was not publicly released. Slan was unable to provide an explantion as to why his DNA was found on the specific area of the victim’s remains.
The investigation is ongoing.
