Columbus, Ohio-based Charley’s Grilled Subs has entered the Baton Rouge market by opening a location at the Mall of Louisiana, company officials said.
Charley’s touts the philly cheese steak sandwich as its specialty, as well as cheese fries, lemonade, salads and sub sandwiches.
The restaurant is the first Charley’s in Louisiana other than two located on military bases.
Su Ouyang will be the local franchisee.
Founded in 1986, Charley’s has more than 400 locations in the U.S. and foreign countries including Italy, Japan and Venezuela. Plans call for the franchise to have at least 500 active units opened by the end of 2011.
