JENNINGS - Jennings City Hall will soon be up for sale.
The city council agreed Tuesday to seek bids for the sale of its home and the Zigler Annex building, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
Together, the structures encompass 25,710 square feet, of which City Hall occupies about 4,000 square feet.
However, City Hall is not moving anywhere anytime soon, Mayor Terry Duhon said.
As part of any sales agreement, the city government will be allowed to stay at its current location as tenants for from two to five years while officials search for a new location.
“We are either going to have to try to buy a building or build a new one,” Duhon said.
