The West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, will open the exhibit, “100 Years after the War to End All Wars,” on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The show, which marks the centennial anniversary of the start of World War I, runs through Oct. 26. It features an international collection of nearly 100 original World War I posters. The museum has added World War I artifacts from the homefront and from the battle fronts with a focus on Louisianan’s participation in the war effort.
The exhibit also includes images and film clips from World War I. Interactive displays and historical photographs engage visitors in imagining aspects of life for the soldiers and civilians alike during the war.
