The LSU Art Therapy Program recently collaborated on an art project with the Baton Rouge General Regional Medical Center’s Outpatient Infusion Lab, which resulted in an exhibit of paintings titled “The Human Body.”

The exhibit is showing at the Jones Walker Foyer in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge. The space usually shows such collaborative exhibits, which are occasionally changed out.

“The Human Body” celebrates perceptions of life inside the human body as seen through the eyes of patients, students, caregivers and local artists.

“Many hands have touched these pieces in a fascinating collaboration between the LSU Art Therapy Program and Baton Rouge General’s Patient Infusion Lab,” the show’s label states. “In this collection, participants express their feelings about the link between physical form and spiritual outlook. Their paintings illustrate themes of love, creation, beauty, loss, disappointment and rebirth.”

Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
