UpStage Theatre will reprise its production of Judi Ann Mason’s comedy Livin’ Fat at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, in its theater, 1713 Wooddale Blvd. Ava Brewster Turner is the director.
Tickets are $15.
Mason was a Grambling University alumnus whose writing career included such credits as the television shows Good Times, A Different World, Beverly Hills 90210 and American Gothic.
Livin’ Fat, set in the early 1970s, is a two-act comedy. At its heart is a morality tale of three generations living together bound by their strong religious faith and love.
That faith is tested when David Lee, a recent college graduate working as a bank janitor, picks up a bundle dropped by two bank robbers. The bundle contains $100,000, and the family must decide if God works in mysterious ways, and if this time he’s working on them.
