Billy Cannon and Charles deGravelles, author of the legendary LSU player’s biography, will be on hand when the Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum Foundation holds the grand opening of the reception center, or RC, as it was originally known, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Angola Museum Receiving Center.

Cannon and deGravelles will sign copies of “Billy Cannon: A Long, Long Run.”

RC originally housed the hospital and admissions for new inmates. RC will now be part of the Angola Museum and will include the exhibits, “Original Death Row,” “Day One” and “Original Inmate Dormitory.”

The space also includes a research library, a large meeting and multimedia room and The Big House Café, a restaurant for visitors, operated by the museum and an inmate re-entry program of Angola Penitentiary. Admission is free.
