Tickets are on sale for the Friends of the LSU Museum of Art’s seventh annual 4th of July fundraiser, beginning at 6 p.m. July 4 at the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St.

This year’s theme is “Red, White and Blue Dog,” which commemorates the museum’s upcoming exhibit Blue Dogs and Cajuns on the River, featuring a collection of signature paintings by George Rodrigue.

The all-inclusive, patriotic soiree ignites at 6 p.m. in the Bert and Sue Turner Gallery on the third floor with a festive fare of red, white and blue margaritas and barbecue from Texas Roadhouse and music provided by The Ross Hoppe Trio. The evening continues with a rooftop celebration on the Irene W. Pennington Rooftop Terrace with music by Captain Green Band and dancing until 11 p.m. At 9 p.m., the Baton Rouge skyline will light up as WBRZ and The Advocate present “Fireworks on the Mississippi.”

Tickets are limited and are $125 for museum members and $150 for nonmembers. The event is for adults age 21 and older only.
