Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre will bring internationally recognized guest artists Franklin Gamero and Iliana Lopez to the capital city to teach at the ballet theater’s Summer Dance Intensive from Monday through Friday, June 15-19.

Husband and wife co-artistic directors of Gulfshore Ballet, these celebrated artists are returning to Baton Rouge after their performance as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier in the company’s annual holiday production, “The Nutcracker — A Tale from the Bayou.”

This weeklong program provides area dancers with the extraordinary opportunity to train under the direction of seasoned dance professionals through rigorous workshops focused on dance technique.

All classes will be at Dancers’ Workshop, the company’s official studio, at 10745 Linkwood Court.

Intermediate and advanced level classes are available, and class assignments will be determined during the first class of the session.

Classes are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, with drop off beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Registration is open to all dancers ages 11 and older. Tuition is $365 for the week. Dancers are encouraged to preregister by calling (225) 767-5814.
